GuestHi,
We are needing a plug-in that can maintain a WordPress page that includes a calendar that displays on-going events by month AND display the 4 latest upcoming events on the homepage.
I am assuming this would require purchase of the PRO version?
Would it entail something like placing a shortcode on the homepage to display the list of events and then styling/customizing that list to fit the look and feel desired?
If it does require the PRO version, it looks like it’s a yearly fee and we would need to pay that fee every year?
Thanks!

MemberHi Grace
You can test out The Events Calendar for free. This will display on-going events an does include a simple event widget to display on the front of your site in a sidebar or footer.
We do offer Calendar View Shortcodes https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/ and Widget Shortcodes https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/ for Events Calendar Pro https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/ that create may different ways to show your events.
We have a few other shortcodes for things such as single events https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-single-events-tribe_event_inline-shortcode/
Our payment is a yearly renewal to continue providing technical support and product development.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

GuestI am trying the free version and had a few questions:
– I do not see controls to move to a previous or next month. I could not find it in the settings.
– Is there any way to have the “Events URL slug” be a subdirectory. So something like “/the-council/calendar”? I tried entering that it appeared to replace the forward slashes with dashes.June 26, 2018 at 1:09 pm #1562188Courtney
MemberHey Grace
You may want to use the mini calendar widget shown in the top right of this page: https://wpshindig.com/event-widgets/. Notice you can advance the calendar forward/back and dots display on days that have events.
Assuming you don’t want to run a second WordPress installation in this subdirectory, this would be a no out of the box.
You could request this as a new feature at our plugins’ UserVoice page https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4353565-add-support-for-the-calendar-in-a-subdirectory-lik
This allows others who are interested in that feature to easily voice their support. We frequently review suggestions there to find out which ones are popular, then we implement as many of them as we can.
Thanks

GuestRegarding the question to advance or go back to the previous month, I see from this demo that it should allow that: https://wpshindig.com/. I’m seeing links to go to July or go back to May.
However, when I tested the free version on my site, I do not see that functionality. Is that only available in the PRO version or am I missing some setting somewhere?
Thanks!

GuestAlso, it appears the grid lines/border for each day of the month are not showing. Is that a setting somewhere as well?
Thanks!

MemberHey Grace
The preview on our demo is for Events Calendar Pro, the paid version.
Can you show me on your own site where the grid lines aren’t showing?
Thanks
