Nicholas
GuestHello,
Some context, I’m at a non-profit that gives grants to organizations who in turn have to post the event to our calendar. Currently we are having the grantees input the event into the calendar through a subscriber account but we are considering having them do it in the application. I we did this we’d need to export out of our database a .CSV of the event and use the Events Aggregator to import it. What are the limitations for the import? Are there specific date/time formats? I don’t have the ability to force formats in the fields so I’m concerned there will be a lot of data cleaning to get this to work. I’m also considering exporting out of events calendar, is there a way to export the events as an excel/.CSV? I only find .ical which is a very messy format, even when converted to .CSV it’s useless.
Thanks,

KeymasterHello Nicholas,
Thanks for reaching out with your question. Let me try to help you with this.
I don’t fully understand the details of your question.
Where do they currently input? Is it a WordPress site with The Events Calendar running, they log in and add a new event? Or is it through our Community Events plugin? Or… ?
What is the application which you are considering?
What are the limitations for the import? Are there specific date/time formats?
Basically what PHP’s
strtotime()function accepts.is there a way to export the events as an excel/.CSV?
Unfortunately there is no other options at the moment, only iCal and GoogleCal.
What might be of use though is the Community Events plugin. You can set that up to allow submissions of registered users only. (You can set up the users if you want.) And you can also set it up in a way that when an event gets submitted then it needs to be reviewed / approved by you first.
This might be an easier way then an application or import / export.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers,
