GuestI am interested in potentially using both The Events Calendar and Eventbrite, so I had some questions regarding the Eventbrite Tickets add-on. It would be ideal to use that add-on to create/update events via the CSV importer in The Events Calendar and have that flow to Eventbrite, as well; then, we could use either calendar tool to promote these events. (Both offer features that would be useful for us.) However, we only need a free Eventbrite account, because we have no need to do ticketing for our events, so we don’t want to have ticketing set up in Eventbrite.
Would it be possible to use this add-on in the way I described without creating tickets or enabling the ticketing functionality in Eventbrite? Also, if I use the CSV importer to update our events in WordPress/The Events Calendar, am I correct in assuming these updates would also flow into Eventbrite? Finally, would we need The Events Calendar Pro to be able to use this add-on, and would there be an additional cost for Eventbrite Tickets if we were paying for Pro?
Sorry for having so many questions and thanks in advance for your help with this! 🙂

ParticipantHey CR,
Thanks for reaching out!
To address things in reverse order, no, you do NOT need Events Calendar Pro to be able to use Eventbrite Tickets or any other add-ons. All of our premium add-ons are wholly independent of each other, and Events Calendar Pro is NOT needed for any of them.
As for the CSV/Eventbrite workflow you describe, this is “sort-of” possible. What I mean is that if you an import an event through the CSV importer, and then go to that event’s edit-event screen inside your site’s WP admin, and then set up this event with Eventbrite Tickets, it should be able to publish fine to Eventbrite.
However, there is no support for this happening automatically, where for example upon being imported an event automatically gets linked to Eventbrite. This does not and, at this time unfortunately can not happen. You still have to manually go to each CSV-imported event to set up its linking with Eventbrite.
As for having events without “premium” tickets, that’s fine — these events will not have tickets on your WordPress site, and on Eventbrite they will just be “free” events.
I hope this information helps!
Sincerely,
