ParticipantHi!!
We are new to this all of this, Html user forever, just went to a wordpress site built for us.
We have been learning on a very large curve as quickly as possible. Now that we have a
system that generates a ticket with a QR code people show up with tickets (old school) and
phones witht the QR code showing (new school) yet we just tell them to show us ID as we have a
list of who has purchased.A minute about us, we have been in business almost 50 years now, and are the oldest Jazz Club in Los Angeles. Probably in the neighborhood of 600+ tickets sold a month, even the company that developed the site logged in to help with something for us and couldn’t believe how much activity and tickets we had sold in such a short time. Its really due to the venue being here for so long and the caliber of musicians.
Anyway, it sounds like we have to have someone logged into wordpress while checking in people, this of course
terrifies me. For me its fine but the other people at the door who work there, no way. So if i can make a dummy proof login and a login that allows only that function, then fine. Otherwise we will abandon it and stay the course and kill the QR Code on the ticket and proceed with a list and have them sign in. Just was hoping for more and to step into the 2000’s :):)November 3, 2017 at 2:30 pm #1374994Dean
ParticipantWe would love to be able to use this awesome feature, I was logged in as administrator last night
and when i scanned a ticket all it did was give me a URL and that URL was the address of the event purchased, no check in. Sorry, I’m sure I’m missing something here, any help would be greatly appreciated.November 3, 2017 at 2:59 pm #1375023Dean
ParticipantHi!
So we tried again with the QR scanner noted from your site on scanners to use,
logged in as administrator, and ticket scans, after that all that is shown is
a url which is the address link to the ticket purchased, not check in. I know
i’m missing something. Sorry reading and trying…November 4, 2017 at 2:34 am #1375199Phil
ParticipantSometimes on an Android device, a QR scanner app will open a different type of web browser than what you normally use. So, it is important to log in as an admin within the web browser that is launched from the QR scanner app.

KeymasterHi Micdevin,
I see you are having issues with the QR scanner only giving you a URL. You are almost there. For the scan functionality to work as a check-in, you absolutely need to be logged in to the website with a proper account. Of course site admin works but you could customize the role required with a plugin such as Members.
This will give you that dummy login functionality.
Let me know if this works.
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
