Public form to allow community to import Facebook events

Hi there,

I’d like to check if it’s possible to build a public form for registered users to input their Facebook Page id or Event id so as to import their events, rather than just letting an admin do it on the WordPress interface?

In addition, I’d like to know if it’s possible to import events in a recurring manner, as well as how many FB Pages/Groups we can track to import the events?

Hi,

Thanks for the interest in Facebook Events.

That is an interesting Idea, but it is not something we support in our Facebook Plugin. It could be possible to build something to do that, but it is beyond the support we can provide to help out on that.

We also do not support importing recurring events, but do have any automatic importer that you can include a page id in and every time a new event is added to that page it will import it.

is there a limit to the number of Pages that Facebook Events can track?

We do not have a limit set, but the limit is the resources your server can handle.

Every time it does an import it will check each event with Facebook to see if it has imported or not.

So the more facebook pages with events you add the longer that process takes, which may timeout on your host.

You can change the timeout setting to increase the time a php script can run to help out.
