ParticipantHi, we have a feature request from the admin staff for an online programme for event attendees (and only event attendees).
The key issue is it’s not really appropriate to list info like hotels and restaurants on the main event page for a variety of reasons, from security to endorsement concerns.
Now we could follow the same system as before, creating pages/posts from a template using Advanced Custom Fields and a custom post type, for example, but I’d like to get some feedback from you on other options /best practices here. It would be great to be able to associate a custom post with the main event, for instance, or simply move more towards a membership site with extra information displaying for registered + logged in members on the actual event page.
Our ticketing system is external to our research centre, and is unfortunately quite basic – it’s based on Quform which is more of a contact-form plugin than a full ticketing system, if that’s any help!

MemberHi there Janto,
Thanks for getting in touch! I’ll try to help you here…
From what you describe I guess the way to go would be to implement a user login (WordPress default is very simple to active and setup) and only show that additional information to logged in users. That would just require a simple tweak in the single event template from the event side of things. If there event system / forms provide some sort of code or identification to the user maybe that can be used as well.

Not sure how that worked, but surely sounds a bit of an overkill for something like this.
Please let me know if my suggestion makes sense,
Best,

ParticipantHi Nico, I think it makes sense, and I’m broadly in favour of moving towards more of a membership-site experience for a bunch of reasons.
I’ll test it on my local version over the next week, cheers.
