Hello, I am preparing to launch our new site, and have been using Events Calendar in my planning. I like it, but need more functionality, and am hoping you can help me select the appropriate products to meet my needs.

1. We want to use the calendar as the Master calendar for the church, which means it will include both public (to be published) and private (for certain users only) events. Is this feature possible? For example, I need for certain users (probably 4-5) to have access to the complete calendar, while making the “public” calendar available to all. Ideally, we would be able to set several different calendars (could be done through categories), such as Pastor schedule, Secretary Schedule, Public Calendar, etc (I am thinking of iCal, where you can select/deselect different calendars). This is my biggest priority for calendar selection. Please point me in the direction of documentation on this, or provide a detailed description of if it is possible and how it works.

2. I need for people to be able to submit events. I see that this is possible with the Community add-on. I think this is fairly straight-forward.

3. The Filter Bar add-on looks nice, but is there the functionality to Search the calendar by Category without the Filter Bar add-on? Does the filter have the capability to switch between Public and Private calendars (assuming the person is logged in and has privilege to see the Private calendar)?

With those needs, I am assuming I need Pro, Community, and Filter. Does that sound correct?

4. I see that you do not offer assistance to religious organizations (bummer), but we do have a financial concern, so I want to understand the on-going fees. Can you tell me how much the renewal of the $89 single site license will cost? This will help determine if we are able to use the Modern Tribe products.

Thank you for your assistance. Again, I want to stress that a public vs private calendar is my main priority, and would like as much info as possible. The other items are important, but this main concern will make my decision (I hope it’s possible!).

Thanks for the interest in our plugins. I can help answer your questions.

See my responses below:

We do not have a public or private calendar feature. You maybe to mark events as private and they would only show if logged in, but that is all we have for this. You can use the Event Categories to show a view(month,list, etc) with just those events, that is built into the system. We do not have a method to change between category calendars like iCal does, but you could add links yourself to each category view.

Correct, Community Events handles this.

The default search bar has a keyword, location, and date search. The filter bar does not recognize a private calendar as we do not have that feature.

Currently, renewals are 30% off the full license.
