    Greetings,

I’ve read many discussions in this forum requesting additional information to be added to a ticket, like “special instructions” that a customer can add prior to checkout. The consensus from the support team has been that WooCommerce Tickets is not intended to be that complicated, rather a simple ticketing system.

I too need that functionality. One suggestion I read was to just use the regular WooCommerce cart to sell tickets, but the obvious problem with that is that there would be no ticket numbers assigned and further, no reporting functionality that lists the attendees. My client uses the list of attendees at their functions, so for me, this is a vital part of the plugin.

Can you please put me in touch with someone who could add this functionality for me? Nothing too complicated, just an area to add “special instructions” when ordering a ticket.

I need to have this done this week, so please let me know as soon as you can.

    thanks!

I would like to add my voice to this also. I tried using WooCommerce checkout add-ons (http://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-checkout-add-ons/) but it applied the extra fields to all orders, and I could hide/show depending on the type of product.

Example: if my event has a meal, letting the customer select their meal type.

I’m trying to make this work with http://www.woothemes.com/products/gravity-forms-add-ons/ . The big issue I’m having is that there is a dearth of hooks in the ticket add on. I just want to run the validation scripts, and there’s no validation hook that I can fathom; tickets appears to be bypassing it. Any ideas?

    Hey,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

    Wesley

I can definitely see the desire for having that sort of functionality with the plugin. If you’re looking for customizations, you can send a request to [email protected] and we can refer you to some developers that would be able to help you accomplish what you’re looking for.

I’m sorry but I may be a little confused by your response. Were you saying you were able to get it to work the way you would like by turning off the fields on a per product basis? Also, in the future it will be helpful if you create new ticket to ensure we’re able to respond to all tickets as quickly as possible.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

    Thanks!

    Pardon, to be clear:
“WooCommerce checkout add-ons” will work for you if you do _not_ require custom fields on an event by event basis.

In my case, it doesn’t work because the additional fields would dependent on the type of event (for example, if an event requires a meal and if the person has dietary restrictions)

I replied in this thread because Wesley’s topic is exactly the same as mine.

    Hey jenunderscore,

    Thanks for the clarification!

Would it be possible to run a check on the events associated with the events in the cart to see if the additional fields are required on the checkout page? This would require custom development and is beyond the scope of support here but maybe an idea that can help point you in the right direction.

Overall, this is a good idea for functionality. If you would like, you can request this feature for our developers to consider on our UserVoice page.

I’m going to go ahead and close this ticket, if anyone on this thread has further questions please don’t hesitate to open a new ticket.

    Thanks!
