ParticipantHi,
I have the following problems:
1. The month view won’t work from the chooser. It works from /tilaisuudet/month/, but it apparently tries to use the localized form /tilaisuus/kuukausi/, which cannot be found and then redirects to an event called “kuukausikokous” found in /tilaisuus/kuukausikokous/.2. List view won’t work, when trying to switch to it from another view. It works from /tilaisuudet/upcoming, but the view chooser directs to the localized /tilaisuudet/tuleva/.
3. Venue pages won\’t work.
The views start working when I disable the Events Calendar PRO plugin and re-enable it. Any ideas?

ParticipantTo add: The views stop working after some time.

MemberThat sounds unusual. I see you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme – did that impact on the problem in any way?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, after further investigation the problem seems to come from the fact that I have a multi-language site through WPML, and once I visit the English-side, the Events Calendar PRO plugin does not “return” from the English translation to other languages, so only English slugs work…

ParticipantNow that I realized the problem had something to do with WPML, I found a bunch of threads on the same 404 error. Is there any workaround or fix for the problem?

ParticipantE.g. would it be possible to turn off the localization of the urls?

That’s a good question but I can’t give you a definite answer, I’m afraid. It’s certainly possible to detect if a request relates to events by using tribe_is_event_query(), so you might use that as the basis of your test to decide is localization of URLs should be turned off or not – the actual means of turning them off however is not something we can help with.
Generally speaking we just can’t guarantee compatibility with WPML owing to the way that plugin works. We hope to be able to invest some time in to looking at options for improved compatibility in the future, but right now there’s little we can do here.

ParticipantI solved the problem by changing the slug translations to the English ones.
As long as this problem continues I would suggest you to add a “Translate slugs” as an option for WPML users.
Though, there seems to be an actual bug with the view chooser, as the pro views don’t get translated. I’m seeing in the English and Swedish versions the Finnish translations for “Day”, “Photo” and “Map”. Month and List get translated normally.
BTW, the organizer slug never gets translated.

Is this a WPML-specific problem that you are describing? If I switch my installation to run in Swedish for instance (without WPML) day becomes dag, photo becomes foto and map becomes karta which seems to be in order?

ParticipantHi, it has to do with WPML, yes, or atleast with the “On the fly” language change. However, it only affects the views and parts (location search) that are related to Events Calendar PRO. The default views and stuff work fine, so it has something to do with the way PRO does the localization.
Also, it seems to me that there is some kind of a “cache” or delay with how the translations are handled as when I changed the language it took an extra refresh for the PRO texts to update.

MemberOK – so again there is little we can do as, currently, we cannot support offer support for integration issues with WPML.
We’re absolutely open to fixing any areas where we’re not making appropriate use of WordPress’s internationalization/localization features, but the fact that the view titles are, as far as I can see, translated perfectly outwith a WPML context suggests that perhaps this issue may indeed be on the WPML side of things.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread now: if we can help with anything else, or you spot any translation issues that are not bound to WPML in any way, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll be happy to investigate.
Thanks!
