Bill
ParticipantIn the past few days I have been struggling with TEC Pro during a transition to a new domain. The first issue is a ongoing complaint of slow loading of some admin pages like the widget page.timing out and producing a 404 . I thought this was a server issue, but here is what Synthesis support (a reliable and knwoledgable source for the most part) says
Hello Bill,
Happy to help!
Can you try accessing widgets link after disabling “events-calendar-pro” plugin?
This plugin is known for having issues with PHP APC module.
Please let us know if the issue still persists?

Customer Success SpecialistAnd turning off all things true did in fact speed up loading of these pages.
Now, secondly, with Pro and add ons (FB, EB, Community) reactivated, when I click on customizer
http://contracostabee.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fwidgets.php it does not produce the customizer page bu produces
Edit Add Events Featured Venue
Events Featured Venueof course the link only produces a blank page.
It doesn’t blow up as I can hit back button to get back to widgets page.
When I disable Pro (leaving add ons alone) the customize link loads correctly and swiftly.

MemberHi Bill,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issues.
Regarding the APC consideration made by Synthesis support, we don’t have any known issues with it. Please ask if there’s any log or something else that suggest the problem is APC compatibility, we’ll much appreciate having those sent to take a deeper look. However it’s quite possible the issue relates with a database bottleneck. Do you have a large amount of events, venues, event categories, tags or organizers?
Regarding the customizer, I’ll take a look to see if I can reproduce that somehow. Also I noticed your ‘all current’ comment, but can you double check that you are using the latest versions of the plugins? An issue with similar symptoms has been fixed a while back.
Best,

ParticipantI am using WP 422 Pro 393 W3TC and Cloudflare but I am looking at direct via host file. When I deactivate Customizer loads admin page loads fine. When it is activated Customizer produces the link to Edit Events described above.

ParticipantWhat is a large number of events? 676 have been published 2 pending moderation. I believe many of those are recurring events for local service groups (rotary, chamber, networking meetings.
I assume that that 676 are future events trusting that pro deletes past events?

ParticipantI have solved the problem with the Appearance>>Custom edit window. Problem resolved when I deactivated a custom plugin that added widget areas to the home page.
