Problem with Views not loading on the /events/ page

Hello,

When I go to the /events/ page or an /events/category/ page and view other than the default (either List, Month, or Day) the page doesn’t change from the default selected view. This changed recently when I updated from 3.7 to 3.8 – the views worked previously. To test this further, I confirmed 3.7 views were working on a local site, then updated to 3.8, which broke the views. When I attempted to revert to 3.7 by replacing the new files, changing the views gave me a 404, or I’d just go back to 3.7 on all sites.

This is happening on these two sites:

3.7 is still working on another live site, which I’m using for comparison: [sites removed]

I’ve tried disabling all other plugins (except Advanced Custom fields, because the site goes blank without this) and the bug is still coming up.

I’ve tried setting the theme code back to a few months ago, but it doesn’t fix the bug. When I open the chrome Sources window and click on a different view, the functional site changes from events/upcoming to events/month. When I replicate this on the broken sites, nothing changes – the view stays the default.

I’ve tested this with both the free & pro versions. I’m getting the error in FF, Chrome, Safari & via IE via browserstack.

Is there anything else that I could try to troubleshoot this error?

Note – this was happening with 3.7 as well, I just checked an older site and the bug is also there. The host for all of the sites with the issue is WP Engine.

So if I’m not mistaken, it sounds like it is working on at least one site with 3.7, but not on a different 3.7 site and additionally not on a site with 3.8 – is that correct?

YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.

Might this actually be a conflict? I do appreciate when you created this thread you noted having already run through our standard troubleshooting steps as above: just for the avoidance of any doubt, can you confirm that didn’t lead you to identify any conflicts?

(And/or could this stem from event-related customizations that are in place on some of your sites but not others?)
