Hi, I’m facing a wierd bub with the permalinks of the recurring events.

The permalinks of the recuring events causes a 404 error because they seem to be redirected to “/all”, exept for the first of theses events which display correctly.

I couldn’t find what I missed in the settings so I desactivate all my plugins and I found that when I desactivate The Events Calendar pro (The Events Calendar still on of course) all the permalinks of my recurring events works perfectly fine, so it seems to cause the wierd redirection.

Is it normal? did I miss something in the settings? do you know a way to avoid that problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Florian,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having difficulties. I wonder if you could try two subtley different but similar troubleshooting processes here.

The first, which you may already have covered, is deactivating all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO (please leave both activated). Please also switch to a default theme, such as Twenty Fourteen, and then flush permalinks – you can do this simply by visiting the Settings → Permalinks screen – you don’t actually need to adjust any of the settings.

Does that restore normal behaviour for the recurring event links?

If not, let’s move on to the second troubleshooting process before you reactivate any other components. Please create a new set of recurring events and see if those permalinks work as expected. If they do, this may indicate the conflict is caused by another plugin (or your theme) interfering at the point when the recurring events are actually generated.

Can you give those steps a go and see if they reveal anything?

If you’re unsure about anything I have described please just let me know 🙂

Hi Barry and thank’s for your response.

I tried the two things you suggests and it worked.

I switch to twenty fifteen, deactivate all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO and I flush the permalinks. It didn’t solve my problem.

So I created a new set of recurring events and it worked, all the permalinks of this new event send me to their pages. I reactivated all my plugins and switch to my theme and it still worked (whitch is great by the way 🙂 ).

I wanted to try so I created an other recurring event with all my plugins activated and it also worked perfecty fine.

And then y remembered that I had a problem during the tranfer of my website from wamp to my server. The url changed so the permalinks did’t work after that (obviously). I’m a bit lazy so I did’t want to look in phpmyadmin and execute a bit of sql to reset them right and the creation of recurring events is so easy that I recreated the same event and then I deleted the old set (I’m a bit stupid to –‘). I must have deleted all the new events I just created except the first. That was my problem…

Sorry for the trouble and thank’s again Barry, you actualy helped me 🙂

    Glad to hear it 🙂

In that case I’ll go ahead and close out this topic – but of course if anything else crops up please don’t hesitate to create a new post and one of the team will be only too happy to help.

    Thanks again!
