    Occasionally I will have an event with a custom rule which exhibits buggy behavior. The problem is (sometimes) repeatable if I use the same parameters on a following week.

    For example, I will have an event that runs at a specific time (7:00 pm) Monday to Wednesday.

    I will have an additional time to add at 4:00 PM on Wednesday and will use a custom rule (have it repeat after two days, at a different time). Doing so makes it so that the 7:00 PM event on Wednesday will not show up.

    I currently encountered another general error. I had an event that was to display on certain days throughout a month. I set the event to run every day until the last day. Then I set a list of exclusions for the days not to show up. The event would then not display on certain days it should have been (with no apparent pattern). Editing the event caused improper listings to show up on dates that clearly had exclusions marked.

    I’ve noticed some version of these errors in the past but it was incidental. Recently it has become difficult to schedule complicated events lately due to these errors.

    Thanks for reaching out to us!

    Great to see your site! I’m originally from Wilmington and have a lot of family still in the area.

    I’d be glad to help look into these issues further to see if there is a structural issue with the recurring events or to help diagnose a bug in our plugin that we can address and release a fix for. To do this, would you mind sending a screenshot of the recurrence settings used when you’ve experienced these issues? I’ll use that to try and recreate the issues.

    Good to hear it, Wilmington is a great city.

    Attached is a screenshot of the first example which is repeatedly causing problems.

    When this is scheduled frequently, though not always, the third 7:00 PM event (in this example on 11/23) will not show up.

    Hey Allen,

    Thanks for following up here.

    Unfortunately, I don’t believe our recurring events feature currently supports having multiple recurrences of an event on the same day. You mentioned that these issues happen on occasion but the feature will sometimes work well for you. When they’re working well, are these for events that you’re attempting multiple recurrences on for the same day as well?

    Do you happen to have an example of a ruleset where the exclusions weren’t working as expected?

    As far as using more complex recurrence rules, we do have a Uservoice request that we would love to get your votes on.

    Hi Josh,
    I’ll consider this issue resolved with that response.

    The other issue did not involve multiple events on the same day. Unfortunately I deleted the event and its parameter were fairly broad, so if a similar repeat issue happens I’ll record the settings and open a new thread.
