ParticipantHi,
we’re using Community Events for associations and clubs in our municipality so that they can add their own events on our website. Since last week we get e-mails from people that they suddenly can’t add events to our website anymore.
After a little searching we found that the slug for Community Events has changed from
/veranstaltungen/community/addto
/veranstaltungen/community/hinzufuegenDo you know why the slugs has been changed at all?
Is there any way we can change the word “hinzufuegen” back to “add”? Otherwise we have to write all of our (over 70) clubs and associations and inform them that they’ll have to use other slugs from now on.
Can you please help us?
Best regards,

MemberHey Sebastian,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Answering your question, the URL change from community/add to community/hinzufuegen probably happened because you changed your WordPress language from English to German.
To confirm that, please access your Dashboard and head over to Settings → General. Scroll down until you find the “Site Language” option. If you want to immediately revert your URL back to community/add, select English from the dropdown menu and save your changes.
If you don’t want to change your site’s language, you can also setup a URL redirect in your server from /veranstaltungen/community/add to /veranstaltungen/community/hinzufuegen : this way if someone access the first link, it will be automatically redirected to the second one (avoiding the 404 error).
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else and I’ll be happy to assist!
Regards,
Patricia

ParticipantHi Patricia,
thank you for your quick respond and your suggestions!
Actually I think I stick to my idea of informing all of our clubs and associatons about the new URL. I’m just hoping the URL won’t change automatically again 😉
Best Regards

MemberHi Severin,
You are welcome! You can rest assured that your URL won’t change automatically: the only way to update the URL (from community/add to community/[any_other_language]) is by manually changing your WordPress install language.
Let us know if you need anything else and have a great day!
Regards,
Patricia
