    Just started happening yesterday –

    20151029T182101: outriggersantacruz.org/wp-cron.php
    WordPress database error User ‘nX1RL6vq4axug6V’ has exceeded the ‘max_questions’ resource (current value: 75000) for query SELECT autoload FROM wp_lgnx_options WHERE option_name = ‘_transient_tribe_events_pro_processing_batch_4439’ made by do_action_ref_array, call_user_func_array, Tribe__Events__Pro__Recurrence__Queue_Processor->process_queue, Tribe__Events__Pro__Recurrence__Queue_Processor->do_processing, Tribe__Events__Pro__Recurrence__Queue->clear_in_progress_flag, delete_transient, delete_option

This makes MySQL time out for an hour and brings my entire site down.
I have narrowed it down to your plugin. I did not change anything, but someone else may have entered a new event.
I have disabled both core and pro plugins for now.
I did update the core plugin to see if that would fix, it did not and only made matters worse in that now I get the version miss-match warning, even though there is no update listed on the pro plugin.

    Hey @Duane,

Really sorry to hear about this. I’m curious – what is the largest size of recurring events on your site? For example is it an event series that has hundreds of events in it, like something happening every day for a year?

Also, what are your current option values for the “recurrence cleanup” options on your site? To find these, simply head to Events > Settings in your wp-admin. Right on the main “General” settings tab, you’ll find these two options as shown in this screenshot:

    Thank you!

    Hi George
We donʻt have any recurring events like that, the largest would be once a week, we have 3 or 4 of those.

As far as cleanup settings, Iʻm sorry but I canʻt re-enable your plugin to check that. We simply can not have our site down for an hour.

I can send you sql exports if that would help you see some settings, or if you tell me what to look for in raw sql I can look it up.

I have to tell you this is really, really bad. Like a ticking bomb that can go off at any time and bring our entire site down. You apparently donʻt even have to go to the events page, just any page kicks it off.

Honestly Iʻm not sure we can continue using your plugin, it is just too much risk.

I’m sorry about this situation @Duane – it looks like your purchase of your license is from June of this year, is that correct? Our payment processors only let us process refunds within 30 days of purchase, so we are unfortunately not able to issue a refund although if I could I would do that immediately 🙁

If you do not deem the plugin worth continuing to use, then I guess that’s the best decision if you think it’s the best decision.

If you would like to share SQL exports anyways, it’s much appreciated and we can indeed do some testing with it. You can email .zips of these exports privately to us at [email protected].

    Sincerely,
    George
