    Hey guys, love the calendar!
I’m trying to set up private events, and I did set a test one up.
So it works fine on the big calendar but the widget one has issues showing the private event information when clicked on the date.
I click on non-private events and the widget shows me the proper link and info. The private event DOES SHOW on the mini calendar, but when clicked, nothing appears. Is there a way to fix this?

Might as well ask this one too.
We have the calendar on the main page. We’d like visitors to see the events on the calendar, but require them to log in to see the details(event page) when they click on an event. Is this possible?

    Hello calach,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

To clarify, you’re setting the event to “Private” using the default WordPress visibility setting here?

I tested out on my local install and I was able to see the issue you’re noting. To me it seems the fact that nothing displays is a good thing since the event is set to private. The issue is that the mini calendar shouldn’t be showing the indicator that there is an event on that day?

To your second question, this can definitely be accomplished with some custom development or integration of other “Membership” style plugins.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.

    Thanks!

    Hello again!

What I meant is, I would like to make an event “private” for members only. Not an event “private” for only myself to see.

So for example, the event calendar will show the indicator of the event, and when you click on it, the title and details of the event will appear below the calendar as usual. But…since it is a “private” event for members only, I would just like for it be titled as a “private event” with no description. So that when they click on the event title, they will be directed to the log-in page so they are able to log-in and view the event, and event details.

If you could give me a little more advice on how to go about this, it would be greatly appreciated 🙂 Thanks!

    Hello calach,

    Thanks for clarifying!

You can definitely accomplish this with some custom development. An approach that comes to mind first would be to follow the Themer’s Guide and wrap the single views in an “is_user_logged_in()” conditional. If not, you can supply the login and registration forms.

To modify the view on the calendar, you’ll need to add some sort of “Private” indicator for the event that you can test against in a similar fashion for the addition of the “Private Event” title.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.

    Thanks!
