ParticipantIs there a way to configure an event so that it appears as “Private Event” to the public when the browse the site, but has the normal title in the WordPress dashboard?
Additionally is there a way to display the time of the event in the “Events” list in the WP dashboard without purchasing “Admin Columns Pro?”
Thank you very much.

KeymasterHello Kyle!
Regarding your first question, do you want the events details to be visible, but just change the title to “private event” on the front end? Or do you want the event to only be visible to logged in users, and have the title say “private event” to non-logged in users in the events list/calendar?
As far as displaying the time in the admin list of events: I do not know of any free plugins to do this. It is possible to add this with PHP, but I know this is kind of an involved process. If this is something you would like to pursue, I can look around for some examples to get you pointed in the right direction.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Sky, on the front-end I would like it to change the title to “Private Event” when a user is not logged in. For instance, there may be a time where the event needs to be on the calendar, but shown so that it is an “unavailable” time when someone makes an inquiry about the calendar. Is this possible?
Thanks for the reply regarding the time column.

KeymasterKyle,
There isn’t a built in way to do this, though it would be possible with some PHP customization. You could create a category for the events that you want to be private, then add a conditional check on the filter for the title that replaces the title with “Private Event.” However, this type of customization is a bit beyond the scope of support we can provide here in the forums. Again, if it is something you would like to pursue, I could provide a bit more information to get you pointed in the right direction.
You can read this knowledgebase article to see how others have approached private events. It is different than what you are wanting to do, but it may give you some ideas on how to approach it.
Let me know if that helps, or if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
