    Hello,

Is there a way to duplicate the previous and next month functionality that is natively at the bottom of a calendar and add it to the top as well? Basically we want users to be able to scroll month to month when viewing the top of the calendar as well as the bottom. Thanks!

Good afternoon Brandon and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The simplest solution to this would be to do a quick template override for the single event view (aka custom view).

The process is fairly straightforward. All you need to do is:

    1. Open up the single-event view file
    2. Find the navigation code
    3. Copy and paste it where you would like in the file
    4. Upload the modified file in the correct folder of your WordPress theme

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hi Geoff!

Thanks for getting back to me. My comments are in *bold*

    * 1. Open up the single-event view file – where do I find this file? 2.
Find the navigation code 3. Copy and paste it where you would like in the
file 4. Upload the modified file in the correct folder of your WordPress
    theme*

    Good afternoon Brandon,

    Thank you for writing back.

To find the location of files, your best friend is the Themer’s guide.

More specifically, the file you will want to look at is located at /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/month/content.php

Since you are using Avada, your theme already contains overrides for the Events Calendar.
Ironically enough, the default navigation is both at the top and at the bottom. But Avada removed that.

So it will only be a matter of putting the code back in and uploading the file back to your Child theme.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
