GuestWe need to speak with someone about pre-sales information. Also, we are interested in the Events Calendar Pro plugin for our Word Press site (Trussvilleevents.wordpress.com). We want to eventually purchase a package to obtain our domain and also allow us to add this plug in to our site. If possible, we would like to speak with someone on the phone. We want a website with the Events Calendar Pro template that allows third parties to upload events with their own log in, and these events be approved by us. Once approved, the particular event be viewable on the main site’s calendar. We want to be able to have pictures and links in these events. We want a month view as well. If you need any further information, please let me know.

MemberHi Sam. Thanks for your interest in our plugin suite. We’re glad to help here in this Pre-Sales Forum. We do not offer phone or email support, just the forums.
Our plugins only work for the software from WordPress.org, not for the sites hosted at WordPress.com
If you have a WordPress.org site, you can start by installing our The Events Calendar free/core plugin. It offers quite a bit of functionality for free, including month view.
It sounds like you’d definitely be interested in our Community Events add-on. Our PRO add-on enables Additional Fields, amongst many other features.
You might also be interested in our Bundles.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

GuestIf we purchase a package, we want to be sure we are able to get personal support via quick email or phone. I am asking because it took a few days for a response in these forums, and I had to post twice in two different places. The first one still has no response. Also, when I go to wordpress.org, the download page shows I can either download it to my computer or create a free account at WordPress.com. So your plug in will only work for the software downloaded onto the computer? If something were to happen to that computer/downloaded software, our website would be gone?
In the events calendar plug in with a word press website, are third party companies able to create their own log in for the website and post events that will appear on the home page calendar upon our approval?
Also, there will be three main companies including the one I am a part of that will work together in hosting this events calendar/word press site. Is this site able to have three administrative log ins?October 27, 2016 at 9:30 am #1183782Cliff
MemberSam, WordPress.com is Automattic’s hosted WordPress.org platform. They do not allow any plugins and only a few themes are available to choose from.
So, in short, yes, you need to run the WordPress.org software on your own server (hosted with whomever you choose, like Pantheon, WP Engine, GoDaddy, or many other options) in order to use our plugins.
Since it’s self-hosted software, you or your developer(s) can customize it for whatever you want to accomplish. If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers. And, since it’s self-hosted, you have the database, files, and can create your own backups or transfer your site from one host to another.
Our Scope of Support / Terms detail what support is available and the expected response time. We do not have “VIP Support” or other support levels available for different contact methods or quicker response times.
Regarding your other thread that hasn’t yet received a reply, please provide me a link to it so I can figure out what happened there.
I’m looking forward to answering any other questions you may have.

GuestThat is the other forum. I will create a test server and download the software along with your plug in. You mentioned transferring our site from one host to another, could you provide me with more documentation on how to do this? I want to make sure if I need to update to a new server later, that I can transfer the site easily without any interruptions. Hopefully that will be all the support I need for now.
Thank you for your time,

MemberThanks for that link, Sam.
Automattic employees are the ones responsible for the WordPress.com support threads, but I replied there as well. I heard (but don’t quote me) that most threads never get “closed” so I’m not sure if you’ll get another (unnecessary) reply from them after mine.
You might be interested in DesktopServer, software that makes it easy to setup a WordPress install on your desktop/laptop computer and can also push to your live/hosted website (although I haven’t personally done that before).
You can reference the WordPress Codex for an answer as well: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
Please be aware that WordPress.org software is code and, therefore, having a developer can save a lot of time and headache. If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
