pre_get_posts does not apply when next or previous month links clicked

Supposedly, this issue was addressed, but it seems to still be broken with the latest version:

pre_get_posts when loading calendar view with Ajax

Let me say that the cited threads seem a bit old, so I would prefer you to describe the issue or share the code that’s not working for you so I can take a look. Also one of the users had removed the AJAX functionality from month view is this your case as well?
