    Hello.

My question is related to calendar views and submission forms.

As the plugin should be at first, installed on an event display page, separated from the actual website, I need to know if I can display submission forms, event calendars and other infos on a pure HTML website? Because the main site will only be changed to wordpress later on september, but we need to use this plugin for events like, right now. Is it possible?

It will be all on wordpress later, but now unfortunately, we can’t do it.

    Thank you.

Just to clarify: The plugin will be installed on a wordpress site, that will be in a /events directory of the main site. What I need is to display info about events on the main site.

    Hallo Fernando,

So if I understand correctly you need to display the events on the home page of the site.

That is possible to do in 2 different ways.

Options #1: you can set up your main events page to be your front page. You can do that under Settings > Reading in your WordPress dashboard. And under Events > Settings you will be able to select which view (month, list, day or in PRO photo, week or map view as well) you want as default. Here’s a screenshot of the WP setting.

Option #2: with Events Calendar PRO you can use short codes to put calendars on any page you like. You can read more about the shortcodes here.

I hope this answers your questions. Let me know if you have any more.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Hello Andras, thanks for your help.

I was going to get the pro, but my problem is, I have to put some event info on a non-wordpress site. I’ll explain:

The site is http://www.site.com, ok? And I have to do, for now, something like http://www.site.com/events where the WP installation will be for the time being (everything will be at http://www.site.com in september, but not now). So my question is, is it possible to show calendars, submission forms at http://www.site.com? Don’t need to be shortcodes, I can write HTML and code a little, my question is, is it possible to use a form and to show some form of the calendar on the non-wp site for now?

    Hi Fernando,

Thanks for clarifying the question further.

Short answer: yes, that is possible.

Long answer: yes, that is possible, but that will require extensive coding work. You will need to make your calendar view and create the queries that will pull the data from the database of the WordPress site. So this is not a feature of our plugins.

What would be possible is to import the events from one WordPress site to the other. But that doesn’t work with non-WordPress sites as The Events Calendar (& Co.) are WordPress plugins.

I hope this gives you a better picture. Does this answer your question? Do you have any more? I’m happy to help.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Yeah, I was afraid of the long answer… 🙂

I’ll try to keep it to a minimum – buttons and other hard-coded stuff – and maybe, use an iframe to display the event calendar from the wordpress site. I believe it’ll do until everything is in WP. Thanks a lot!
