Can you upload video, images (i.e flyer images) to each of the event listings?

Also, can I have the “RSVP” or “PURCHASE” button in the sidebar on the event detail page for each event?

If I want users to post they’re own event, Sell Tickets, or book at a restaurant for a certain time, what all plugins do I need to get to make this happen?

Hi Nathan! Thanks for the note. Glad to hear you’ve got some interest in the PRO release.

You can include video and imagery in the event listings, yes. These are just a custom post type…so pretty much anything that can display in a regular post can be used on events as well. You can set an image (the flier, for example) as the featured image as well as include it within the entry as you see fit.

An RSVP/Purchase button could be added, definitely, but it’d require you to do a template override of the list view/single event view (more on template overrides here: https://theeventscalendar.com/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/). Keep in mind that if you were trying to actually implement an RSVP or ticket purchase aspect, you would need to either build that out buy another add-on like Eventbrite Tickets or WooTickets. The plugin doesn’t ship with a registration component by default.

In terms of additional functionality you’ve outlined…

    * A user submitting their own event could absolutely be done with Community Events (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/).
    * Selling tickets would be possible with either WooTickets (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-wootickets/) or Eventbrite Tickets (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-eventbrite-tickets/).
    * We don’t have a booking component for the restaurant angle you noted quite yet, unfortunately. We’re discussing what it’d take to get us there right now and may well release an add-on that accomplishes this later on, but for now it’s not possible unless you build something yourself.

Hope that helps. If it doesn’t, or if you have other questions, please do let me know.

So your suggestion to accomplish my goals is to purchase Calendar pro, wootickets, and community events?

For example check out this link and you will see kinda in the side bar the drop down of times to select with certain times for people to purchase. Can’t I maybe just take care of that with “Attributes” in woocommerce? And I would need to download woocommerce to in order to use woo tickets correct?

Here are example links of what I’m trying to accomplish on the set time things to “rsvp”

    http://www.sidetour.com/experiences/uncover-the-culture-and-community-of-chicago-s-chinatown

(If you click on the dropdown upcoming dates)

    or

    https://savored.com/chicago/cafe-des-architectes/

If you click on the sidebar you can see how that function works.

So with that capability you think I can accomplish it with wootickets or woo commerce?

Hey Nathan. If you wanted to accomplish all three of those angles – frontend submissions, ticket sales and a calendar with recurring events – those three would probably be the best batch. If you don’t need recurrence and the other PRO features detailed here (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/), then you could drop PRO from that list and just run Community/WooTickets on the free, core The Events Calendar plugin.

My experience with WooCommerce is rather limited to the way it interacts with WooTickets; but from what I can see at that link, my guess is it’d require some customizations to build that widget into the sidebar. WooCommerce may well have some widget components (unrelated to WooTicktets) that can help get you there, but I sadly haven’t ever used those. That said: remember that WordPress does have their simple text widget, so if you could craft some HTML that accomplished what you’re going for via a homemade customization, it’d probably work. But I can’t guarantee anything.

That help? Let me know if not, or if you have other questions.

I am looking for a wordpress plugin to use for managing a technology conference. It’s a two day event with multiple tracks, speakers, sponsors. Does your product support this type of event. I want to be able to create and display the schedule showing speaker, topic with links to speaker bio and their topic abstract – within a track. Also looking for a mobile app component where attendees can customize their schedule – similar to what a music festival might offer.
    Thanks

Hey Maria. Thanks for the note. We actually were working on a dedicated Conference Manager add-on that served this very purpose a few months back. We put that on hold to focus on the 3.0 release of The Events Calendar, which was more necessary in the short-term. With any luck we will resume that Conference Manager product at some point over the coming months, though. We’ve had a lot of requests for it so I’d honestly be surprised if we didn’t.

Sorry I couldn’t offer you more in the short-term. If you have other questions here, or if I can do anything else, please let me know.
