    Hello-
I am considering two items: Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets Plus.

Based on my reading on Events Calendar Pro, it you want to sell tickets it is best to get the Event Tickets Plus. However, when looking at the Event Tickets Plus, I don’t see the features of the Events Calendar Pro.

Questions. 1) Does Event Tickets Plus provide the same features as Events Calendar Pro with the addition of selling tickets? 2) Or, do I need both of them to achieve the calendar plus sell tickets? 3) If I need both of them, how do they link the information? (i.e., Does creating a ticket with Event Tickets Plus automatically add the even to the calendar?

Appreciate your assistance in helping me eliminate the confusion.

    Best regards,
    Randy

    Hey Randy,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There are two separate plugin ecosystems here, fundamentally. Let me explain:

    The Calendar Plugins
There is a core plugin, The Events Calendar, that is free and provides basic events functionality. Events Calendar Pro is a premium add-on to this core events plugin.

    The Ticketing Plugins
There is a core plugin, Event Tickets, that is free and provides basic RSVP tickets functionality. Event Tickets Plus is a premium add-on to this core ticketing plugin.

The “Calendar Plugins” does not require the “Ticketing Plugins”, nor do the “Ticketing Plugins” require “Calendar Plugins”. They are totally separate from each other.

    So:

    1) Does Event Tickets Plus provide the same features as Events Calendar Pro with the addition of selling tickets?

NO — Event Tickets Plus does not provide any event features. Event Tickets & Event Tickets Plus only provide ticketing functionality.

    2) Or, do I need both of them to achieve the calendar plus sell tickets?

YES — To have events in a calendar and then sell tickets on these events, you need all of the following plugins installed on your site:

    • The Events Calendar [free]
    • Event Tickets [free]
    • WooCommerce [free]
    • Event Tickets Plus [premium]

Events Calendar Pro is optional, and is not required to have tickets on events. If you want features of Events Calendar Pro like the “map view” of events, then you would need to buy and install that too. But if you just need, for example, the Month View grid calendar of events, then you can just use The Events Calendar and not buy Events Calendar Pro.

    3) If I need both of them, how do they link the information? (i.e., Does creating a ticket with Event Tickets Plus automatically add the even to the calendar?

You make an event first, and then while making the event, you add tickets to the event. You do not create tickets on their own and then “attach” them to specific events.

    I hope this information helps!
