Matt P
GuestHi I am using Easy Digital Downloads and Restrict Content Pro to manage my subscribers. My question is, can I configure The Events Calendar to discount or sell tickets for free to members-only. While non-users have to pay full price for the ticket?
Thanks, Matt

ParticipantHey Matt!
I’m a huge fan of and contributor to both of those plugins, and they are awesome! π Unfortunately, while you can make this happen βΒ in other words, it is technically indeed possible βΒ you could only do so by custom-coding a solution for your site.
In other words there’s not, for example, a simple option you could check to make this automagically happen π
Sorry to disappoint! Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else.
Cheers!

GuestHi! I’m interested in purchasing the plugin for one of my clients, but they are concerned about increases in price by the time their license is due to expire in a year. While I know you can’t predict the future (and if you can, lottery numbers please!) what has been the historical increase in prices for your plugins from year to year?
On a related note, do you typically provide a discount for people who re-up on their license?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Mark!
Historically we’ve only had two legitimate price increases for our license line-up, and I have heard no intentions whatsoever from “higher ups” that prices will change; quite the opposite, in fact, and I would be very, very surprised if there’s another price increase in the next 12 months.

With that being said, yes people who renew licenses get a 30% renewal discount off the list price π If there’s a project-befuddling price increase too, in general, then just shoot us an email at [email protected] and describe your project’s pricing concerns; we’ll help out more from there!
Cheers,

ParticipantGeorge, I noticed that since Easy Digital Downloads treats tickets as Downloads you can discount them using member discounts in EDD. So in my Usecase described above all you need to do is set % discounts using EDD and when a member adds a ticket to their cart it shows the discounted price. Non-members would add the same ticket to there cart and would not receive the % discount. Now i’m thinking this is awesome! but it’s limited…
The problem is you can only set one percent discount per-subscriber type. So if I wanted to discount all “Events Tickets” by 50% and all “PDF Downloads” by 100%, you simply can’t. It only allows one flat discount over all Downloads, you can’t set specific categories or differences between content.
If you have any idea’s please share, i’m going to continue searching for a solution.

ParticipantHey @Doug,
Thanks for your input here! I’m sorry to bear this news, but unfortunately this is not something that can be easily worked around:
It only allows one flat discount over all Downloads, you canβt set specific categories or differences between content.
I’m sorry π

I will close up this thread at this time, just because the original questions have been addressed and we don’t really have much further insight we could provide on other-party plugins like Restrict Content Pro and Easy Digital Downloads and such…
Best of luck with your projects, folks!
