ParticipantWhen using the community events submission page, I can’t figure out a way to post a two-day weekend event with start and end times for each day without it being a recurring event. (And if a web developer can’t figure it out, surely the average community events user won’t.)
For example, if a weekend event starts at 10am and ends at 5pm each day, your only options are to have to have a start time of 10am on Saturday and an end time of 5pm on Sunday (making it look like it runs straight through the night to 5pm the next day), or create a recurring event that makes the listing appear twice on the events list page, which is ridiculous for a weekend event. The only other option is to click the “All day event?” box and list the times manually in the text box.
Ideally, I’d want the event header to appear as…
35th Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade & Festival, Petaluma
April 23 – April 24, 10am – 5pmWhat looks terrible and unclear is the current version…
International Chardonnay Symposium
May 13 @ 10:00 am – May 14 @ 5:00 pmThis format is terribly unclear, especially when forced to use the “@” character. Does it start at 10am only on May 13, then start again “at” 5pm on May 14? Obviously not–it’s from 10am to 5pm each day. Why are you guys making this more complicated than it needs to be?
Suggestion: Ditch the “@” character in place of a comma–much cleaner looking and less confusing–and add some code that lets a user show the times for each day of a multi-day (but not recurring) event.

MemberHey Matt,
Thanks for reaching out and for sharing your feedback about this situation.
So basically you are right, the event you mention cannot be setup other than: a) as a recurring event – b) as a all day event with actual schedule in the description. I guess you case is an edge case as we don’t usually get asked for this multi-day with time settings for each day feature, of course that doesn’t invalidate your request!
You are welcome to suggest this feature at The Events Calendar user voice page, where we gather feedback from our community. Other users might jump in as well to add their case of use of the feature to help us define it. Also votes usually (but not always) determine priority of the request.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else,
Best,
