Post Thumbnails to Events List Widget

I keep seeing forum posts referring to this article to do this: /adding-post-thumbnails-to-the-events-list-widget/ but I get a 404 error when I visit that page.

How do I do this? I need to add thumbnails to the Events List Widget and can’t figure it out.
