Possible to abbreviate day of week to first 1-2 letters rather than the first 3?

Hello and thank you for the great plugin. In mobile calendar view, I’m wondering whether it would be possible to display only the first one or two letters of the day of the week rather than the first three. In other words, when viewing on a mobile device, I would like to display either “M” or “Mo” for Monday instead of “Mon” for Monday. I have been looking at using css to do this, but so far it hasn’t worked. Any suggestions would be most welcome. The reason I need this is a bit long to explain (it has to do with implementing machine translation for the site content and with issues that arise when machine translation is applied to abbreviations like “Wed”), but I would be very grateful for any tips you might be able to offer. Hey Ashia! Thanks for the kind words. 🙂

You can change the date format in Events > Settings > Display in the Date Format Settings. In particular, the Week Day Format setting is what you’re looking for and you can use any of the date formatting options offered by WordPress to customize it.

Thank you Geoff. I had seen the WordPress options you mention. However, this only provides two variations: the full weekday name or else a 3-letter abbreviation. I would like a 1 or 2-letter abbreviation of the weekday. Is this possible? Thanks!

Shoot, I’m afraid that if it isn’t an available option in WordPress formatting, then it’s not right of the box for The Events Calendar either. Sorry about that!
