Plugin slowing down site drastically

i currently have all of my plug-ins turned off except for Events Calendar. and it takes my site 55 seconds on average to load.
with this turned off, site loads fine.

Hi. Sorry you’re having such issues. We avoid logging into customers’ sites, but we have these references regarding performance:

• Caching Basics
• Caching Month View Transients
• The Events Calendar Performance Considerations
• Some of our favorite plugins for developers

Please review and go through the various options and let me know how this goes for you.

So your suggestion for intimidate success is:
1. to try a caching plugin like W3 https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/
2. Make use of page caching (but we will not because content changes on the site constantly)
3. Use month view caching in the events calendar settings Events –> Settings –> Display called Enable the Month View Cache.
4. Change the number of events to show per page—this affects list-style views like List View, Photo View, etc.
or change the number of events to show per day in Month View.
5. Purge expired events here: You can enable this option on Events > Settings > General Settings
6. And if all else fails use transient manager plugin to suspend unneeded transient end points so the performance improves.

So if we do this and it doesn’t help, are you saying you will not assist further?

Thanks for reviewing our suggestions carefully.

There’s no way to know exactly which thing will resolve the issue for each install, since it depends on the number of events, server setup and resources, other plugins and theme logic, etc.

One or more of these steps have resolved the issues for many users over the years. I wouldn’t say we won’t assist further, but we also can’t do the opposite and guarantee we will resolve your site’s exact issues.

Please do your best with these recommendations, and we’ll do our best once we hear back how it goes.

Note: Whenever troubleshooting, it’s best to edit your wp-config.php file to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

If you have one or more WP_DEBUG messages, the issue could be from offending plugins, not actually from our plugin’s settings/performance. Or if you have an error from one of our plugins, please pass it along.
