ParticipantHi,
We are also running WordPress Social Sharing Optimization (WPSSO) PRO on our site and in combination with The Events Calendar Pro there are some errors.
The Events Calendar Pro prevents any custom SSO settings on a per blog post basis. So basically if I change some SSO settings in a post and want to save it, The Events Calendar overrides or prevents saving this changes.If I deactivate The Events Calendar. Everything works as it should.
Any idea how to fix this? And yes, I already contacted the support from WPSSO Pro and they played the ball to you guys.
Thanks for your help

ParticipantHowdy Martin,
Pardon our delayed response. On occasion a topic gets pulled out of our usual Queue, it might get marked as spam. We have been working to beef up our spam detection system. We actually just deployed a change today.
Could you share what those errors are? Have you checked your PHP Error logs for the specific, or perhaps there are some visible errors when you try to save the settings? At the moment I would shooting completely in the dark.
Please let me know if you have any questions as well. I’d be happy to answer. I hope we can get this resolved shortly now that it’s assigned to me.
Cheers!

ParticipantThe developer from WPSSO Pro send me this. It working now, but obviously not the fine way. Would be great if you could find and fix the bug in you plugin.
Thanks
Add the following to your wp-config.phg file: define(‘WPSSO_META_SAVE_PRIORITY’, 5);
This way, WordPress will execute the WPSSO filter to save its settings before the Events Calendar filter. Anything that’s defined to run AFTER the Events Calendar filter does not run because of a bug in their code.
I didn’t bother looking at their code to figure out how/why WordPress was not executing any filters after theirs. You may want to report the issue and let them know. 😉

ParticipantThanks for reporting that Explorer, and to WPSSO for helping us find a solution and pausible cause. I would definitely like to hunt down the cause if it might be a bug. I will look into this further. Right now I do not have enough to go on. All I know is there is a bug somewhere in our code. That’s like saying there is buried treasure somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. But I will chase it up and see if I can learn more. If we do find a bug I will mark this topic so that it will get updates on the bug, and notifications once it’s fixed.
Thanks again!
