went to visit site and error 500s
also could not get to admin page any moreDeleted both Plugins using my FTP
and was able to get into Admin once again – website all back excluding these two plugins
Logged onto my Pro Account
downloaded bothInstalled both successfully
Went to activate The Events Calendar and received
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.Had this same issue with January 2015 updates!!
and further update(s) resolved the issue ?
Can you advise
thanksuse plugins on http://www.paulgriffiths.info – where experienced the above

January 10, 2017 at 2:16 pm #1216156paulgriffithsParticipantI have re installed previous versions for Event Cal and Even Cal PRO
still getting WSoDDeactivated all Plugins and website back on view
Have now enabled same plugins one at a time and lastly Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO also with the Category Colours plugin – and website is fine displaying as it was before I updated both Event Calendar and Event Calendar PRO
So current for Event Calendar Plugins running versions:
The Events Calendar – Version 4.3.2
The Events Calendar PRO – Version 4.3.2reolved ?
not really as could update again but reluctant to as caused error 500 WSoD and the error “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”The Events Calendar – Version 4.4.0.1
The Events Calendar PRO – Version 4.4Will wait for another update?
January 11, 2017 at 9:18 am #1216702GeorgeParticipantHi @paulgriffiths,
Ack, sorry for the fatal errors! We hate seeing those pop up and know how frustrating they are. Props to you for testing on a local environment before updating!
This appears to be related to a similar issue I saw earlier this morning where one of our libraries (Tribe Common) is not fully updated in The Events Calendar.
Will you please download fresh copies of:
- The Events Calendar (4.4.0.1)
- Events Calendar PRO (4.4)
You can download both of those by logging into your account on this site and heading to My Account > Downloads.
Once you have those versions, please reinstall the plugins manually by uploading them directly to the wp-content/plugins directory.
I’m hoping that resolves the error. Let’s give that a try and go from there.
Thanks!

but only uploaded the Event Calendar Zip file
plugin failed then error 500
fix is to delete the event calendar plugin folder using my ftp
still not loading site – WSoD
Disabled all plugins – and site back e.g. no WSoD
I will enable all previous Active plugins and fall back to previous plugin versions for PRO and Events Calendar
this is what I did last night yesterday and all worked fine

It sounds like you’ve been able to roll back one site to the previous versions, and your other site you’re just waiting for our published fix for this error to arrive…a smart move on both accounts, and I’m glad to hear you’ve got some temporary stability with your sites for now.
Really sorry for the trouble here. Stay tuned to this thread for updates about the fix!
