I bought the pro and community plugins last night and am having several issues. Leah sent me on over here to see if they can be corrected. The Events are here:
http://www.tafaforum.com/events/ (We only have two so far since it is brand new.)

    Issues:
    -Titles are not showing
-I thought that categories and tags would show.
-My sidebar and footer are gone.
-The View As option does not work (to see other views of the calendar).
-The page does not show up on my Android phone.
-I thought there would be a more visible way for our members to add events, without having to use the WordPress layout. Many are older women with limited tech skills, so I had hoped that there would be fields where they entered their info and then I would add any SEO info from the back end. They are not going to be able to figure out the current set up.

That’s it. If these things can get sorted out (at no extra cost…), then we’re in. Otherwise, I will have to find a different solution.

    Thanks,

    Rachel Biel

    Hello Rachel,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I’m sorry to see that you’re having trouble with the plugins. Hopefully we can help to get you pointed in the right direction for the best solutions to these problems quickly.

To start off, I took a look at your site and it appears that the majority of these issues may be due to your current theme’s use of AJAX. Our plugin relies heavily on AJAX. We provide the ability for theme’s to hook into this use as well but will require a developer to set this up within the theme.

However, for a much simpler solution, it looks like there may be a setting within your theme that allows you to disable the use of AJAX. Can you look at your settings and try disabling that feature on your theme to see how that affects the plugin?

For the addition of new events, this can be done on the front end of the site using this page http://www.tafaforum.com/events/community/add.

I look forward to hearing back from you! Hopefully we can get these issues cleared up for you quickly!

    Thanks!

    Hi, Josh-

I turned it off and don’t see a difference on the Events page.

How do I get the Add Event page to show up on the menu? And, I need to have it set so that only our logged in users can use it. I was a bit confused in the instructions where it asks whether you allow people without a wordpress account to use it.

    Hello rayela,

Thanks for following up with us!

Just checked out the site again and saw that you were able to get the “Add” event added to your menu as well as make the edition of new events limited to registered users. Awesome!

As for the additional conflicts that you’re experiencing with the theme, there is one other thing we could try to see if we can get the templates to display properly on your site. By navigating to the “Display” section of your TEC settings page within your dashboard, you can try limiting the styles that are output by changing to “Full Styles”. Additionally, you can also check to see if updating the Event’s Template to “Default Page Template” fixes the major issues of missing footer and page titles.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot we can offer in support for fixing theme conflicts. If the solutions provided above don’t resolve the display issues you may need to get custom development to integrate the plugin with your theme.

I’m sorry again for the inconvenience. Hopefully the solutions suggested above will help to get the display issues resolved for your site.

    Thanks!

The theme developer took a look at the issues we are having and said:

The Events calendar is generating a JQuery error: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property ‘w’ of undefined
This error is affecting the theme scripts and I can’t do anything about it. The plugin developer should remove that error.

    Can you fix this?

    Hello rayela,

Thanks for following up with us!

Unfortunately I’m unable to replicate the javascript error mentioned above with my local install using the latest version of the plugin as well as multiple default themes and other custom themes.

As I mentioned previously, our plugin relies heavily on the use of AJAX . Unfortunately this can, on occasion, cause some conflicts with themes that also rely heavily on AJAX. Themes can be made to be compatible with our use of AJAX but that would require custom development beyond what we’re able to provide via our support forums.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I definitely understand the frustration that comes along with incompatibility issues such as these.

    Thanks!
