Brian
ParticipantGood morning,
We’ve discovered that when we activate the Events Calendar PRO plugin, the jQuery scripts that operate the header navigation menu no longer function. Without ECPro activated, the menus will (1) display a small arrow on the menu item if there is a submenu associated with it, (2) drop down to the submenu on mouseover, (3) consolidate to a responsive menu for mobile devices. The section of code responsible for these features is in ‘header.php’ file lines 78 through 131. Somehow, ECPro is causing the jQuery to breakdown or fail. I tried looking around for solutions, and some sites suggest using jQuery in no-conflict node or making sure to use the latest version of jQuery, but this functionality was built into the theme and I’m not familiar with how to manage or manipulate jQuery. Can you please help!!

MemberGood evening Brian and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the plugin conflict you have been experiencing when activating the Events Calendar Pro. I would love to help you with this topic.
As you might know, we do try hard to make our plugins compatible with as many WordPress themes and plugins as possible. This is why we take great care in following all of WordPress coding standards.
Unfortunately, as you found out, just because of the sheer number of plugins and themes out there, this is not always possible. As such, we simply cannot guarantee compatibility with themes or plugins that stray from WordPress standards.
The issue you are describing is usually due to multiple versions of jQuery being loaded onto the page (as opposed to using the one that comes with WordPress by default).
I would recommend you contact your theme author about this because it is very likely this will cause conflicts with other plugins as well (which I am sure is not his/her goal).
When you do so, you might want to share the following post on a related topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/jquery-conflict-causing-multiple-issuesnext-day-btn-doesnt-work-in-this-case/
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
