Please update – specifically take the time to read through and update the folder structure.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
The information in there is incorrect, and since this is sort of a tough thing for many people to do, it would help greatly if the information was updated.
March 4, 2015 at 3:36 pm #946024SteveParticipantI stand corrected. There are less errors than I thought, but here are some…
/wp-content/plugins/events/views/ should be /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/
/wp-content/plugins/events/views/list/single-event.php should be /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/list/single-event.php
Also, where defining the location of the Views & Templates, it would help if you provided the full folder path starting at the plugin’s name level. IE: Show all folders within /events-calendar-pro/ and /the-events-calendar/
Also, I understand you have to create the /tribe-events/ folder within our theme’s folder, but when creating the folder structure within, and copying the files, it’s not clear what folders need to be duplicated. As an example, to adjust the list-widget.php file in Pro, you create /pro/widgets/list-widget.php within /tribe-events/
At first I had matched the folder structure from within /events-calendar-pro/ and included the /views/ folder and it was not working properly. This had me stuck for some time.
I’m not sure if they exist, but it would help me quite a bit if there were specific instructions concerning adjusting the list-widget.php file – as an example – as I’m struggling with getting the CSS and display straight.
I’ll look for those tips, but I have not found them.
March 4, 2015 at 5:33 pm #946055BrianKeymasterHi,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will bring it up with the team and see if we can make some changes to improve upon it.
And we do not have anything other instructions for editing the list widget, I can help answer some questions if you have some.
Let me know.
Thanks
March 5, 2015 at 5:27 am #946118SteveParticipantThank you. I do have questions specific to tweaking list-widget.php. The site I am working on is at http://weddingsattheridge.com. I’m using the Members Only plugin and use guest/guest to access and you will have Subscriber access only.
I need to simplify the information in the list widget. As an example, go to http://powderridgepark.com
I just want to display the Event Title and Date/Time in a line under it. (Like Powder Ridge Park).
Right now, the Event Title is pulling H2 I think (Italliano) and that’s obviously not working. We have very little room available here (in the box) so I want to be able to display as many events as possible.
Sorry, I’m not very good at the CSS stuff. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

March 5, 2015 at 6:23 am #946135BrianKeymasterOk I am not able to help on the entire customization, but can get you started.
This is the file to edit for the Event List in the widget:
events-calendar-pro\views\pro\widgets\modules\single-event.php
There you can remove the coding you would not want and change the h2 tags to something smaller.
Does that help get you in the right direction?
March 5, 2015 at 7:05 am #946146SteveParticipantYES. I’ve been struggling with list-widget.php instead of single-event.php. Just confusing for me. I think I’ve got this and will work with the CSS and the elements.
