Photo view slow to load

Hi there,

Using the Photo View widget on my sites homepage appears to increase the page load time by 6+ seconds. Using Pingdom Speed test it appears to related to Event Calendar and JSON call.

I’ve made sure that caching is enabled in the back end but that doesn’t appear to have had any effect. I’ve also found on the support forums some code to disable json-ld but that appears to be only for the Month view (I’ve tried it anyways with no effect).

I’ve done my best to optimise the site via caching/minify plugins and would really like to remove this delay.

I made a few tests on my own and it looks like you are having some performance issues.

We have a great article that will get you started on Performance Considerations you should know about. After that, if you decide to implement a caching system then you can move to these articles: Caching: What, when and how and Caching month view HTML in transients

Finally, there is a good article George put up here that groups a set of developer plugins. It’s a bit more technical than the others but will definitely be of help if you are into development.
