    Hi,

We’ve noticed some inconsistencies with the attendee / order information.

We have an event with a capacity of 29 tickets, that says under attendees “22 sold (7 remaining)”.

Then under the list of events, there is a column named “Attendees” and for the same event it has the number “22” and under that “100%”.

We presumed this percentage was for the percentage of tickets sold, but there is still 7 remaining, so it would be more “63%” or around that.

Could you let us know if this signals an issue or if we have mistaken the intention of the percentage? I tried looking through the forum for an answer but couldn’t find one.

I’ve attached a screenshot to help!

    Thanks, Alex

    Hi Alex,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first step, can you update all of your Events Calendar related plugins to their most recent versions? After doing so, please create a test event to see if you get the same results with this scenario.

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,

I’ve updated all the plugins on the site, but it still shows 100% despite there being 6 tickets now available.

In addition we’ve noticed another issue. There was 7 tickets available but one person was moved to a different event, so the number of tickets on this event should have gone down from 22 to 21. However it only shows this on the list (where the percentage sign is) and under the orders tab next to completed. Everywhere else still says 22.

There’s lots of other events that tally up correctly, but just this one that doesn’t. We could do a test event, but to replicate this one would be tricky with all the sales on it, a ticket being moved and some being deleted.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Alex,

Can you take a screenshot of how this event and ticket look on the backend, so that I can try to replicate the situation you are describing?

Any additional information on how this ticket was created would be helpful as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for providing me with all of that information.  Unfortunately I cannot replicate the scenario that you are seeing on your site.

Have attendees been moved/deleted/cancelled? If so, you may want to go over the process outlined here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/

In addition, one thing you can do is to alter the total_sales custom field on the WooCommerce Product page that is associated with the ticket that you are trying to edit.  You can change that number to reflect the actual number of attendees that you have, which will then change what you see in your Attendees tab.

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Thank Jaime for that info.

We going to look at it today, and as you suggested we’ve manually altered the total_sales custom field to match the true figure (took me a while to find it as we have ACF installed and by default it hides the WP custom fields checkbox!).

As you mentioned there have been attendees deleted. I was wondering if the percentage bug happens after ticket sales have reached 100% it then cannot rectify itself if attendees are deleted?

Also there was one attendee that was moved from this event, but it didn’t make an effect on the ticket sales, just the number of attendees completed. So at the time total sales was 22, and stayed at 22 after an attendee was moved to another event, but complete attendees did drop down to 21, but on the event it was moved to did increment up one.

Is this normal behaviour? Should we then have to manually change the number in the woocommerce product?

Also, another quick question, under the Order tab it has on the right “Total Sales” and at the time of writing £360. But one ticket was free, so the money taken was £345 that is reflected in completed sales underneath, and the discounts is shown at the bottom of -£15. My client just thought this was a bit unintuitive since you would think “total sales” would include the discount? Is this right? I’ve attached a screenshot.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Alex,

When you manually changed the total_sales custom field, did it alter the percentage?

As you mentioned there have been attendees deleted. I was wondering if the percentage bug happens after ticket sales have reached 100% it then cannot rectify itself if attendees are deleted?

I tested this functionality and once my test event reached capacity, I deleted an attendee, and the percentage changed as expected for me.  So it seems that this is not a bug in our system.

This is something that you have to do manually.  This is in place because it allows our users to make decisions of how to handle stock on their own.

I can understand how this can be confusing, since the total sales excludes the discounts, however this is expected behavior.

You can also add this idea to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
