Do I have this wrong? Should events that are past, Move to the Trash? If yes, we seem to have some that do not. noitced these are events that are imported without a year going in that is visible.
September 21, 2018 at 8:43 am #1627508AndrasKeymasterHi,
No, past events do not get automatically moved to the trash by default.
There is a setting for this under Events > Settings > General tab and looks like this: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/ht2k1dp1ubw6azd/shot_180921_174300.jpg
I’m not sure if it has an effect on imported events. Just checking with the developers and will get back to you on that when I get an answer.

September 21, 2018 at 9:53 am #1627688mryoungconntact.comParticipantThanks I did have that setting clicked – for a site with a lot of events 3
months is a little too long. The admin side of moving through events leaves
a lot to be desired and scrolling through hundreds of events that are past
is very time consuming/ I would suggest 15 days 30 days as an option. If i
can find the link for sugggesstion will add. Thank you for your attention
to our support questions.—

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I’ll check with a developer if another option can be added with a bit of code and I already suggested this modification.
Alternatively, if you are also using Events Calendar Pro, then you could give a try to our free Advanced Post Manager (APM) plugin. With the help of that you can set up different filtering options for your event list on the back-end.

September 24, 2018 at 5:29 am #1628981AndrasKeymasterHi Mitchell,
I just got info from a developer, we are looking into extending the possibilities of that option. It will still need to go through some strategy discussions as what I saw looks to be a more robust feature.
Meanwhile let me know if APM works out for you.

APM is a help but what we need most is the ability to search a Field. We
have a goal for many events [10,000+] and there is a lot of scrolling even
with APM to address issues of editing etc.I would point you to the admin in Joomla – as it is much more flexible than
in WP – we switched fo WP for events because of some of the plugin features
and ability to aggregate events.—

I’m sorry, I’m getting a bit confused here.
Originally you said that you basically do not want to see past events. While we are working on improving that ‘remove past events’ feature I suggested you to use APM.
Now you are mentioning some kind of a “search”. Could you give more details on this?
APM does give you the possibility to search / filter the title of the events, or to search in the description of the events.
Beside this, after filtering for some dates, you can still use the built-in search function of WordPress.
If you can give me a detailed explanation of what you exactly imagine I might be able to help you further.
Cheers,
