ParticipantThe link for “previous events” no longer shows the details of the past event.
This worked on my site earlier–so I suspect something went awry.Specifically, it’s for a past “Bethesda” event in December 2014.
I deactivated all my plug-ins and it still doesn’t work.
However, it does work when I change the theme to Twenty Fourteen. Thanks for your help!

MemberHi Mary,
In the first instance can you visit Events → Settings → Display and locate the template setting.
Try toggling this between the Default Page Template, Default Events Template and any other templates that might be available (save your change each time you adjust this!) and test to see if a different option here produces a better result.
This worked on my site earlier–so I suspect something went awry.
Can you pinpoint any events – such as a theme update – that occurred immediately prior to the problem showing up? Also, do you have any custom event template (or do you know if your theme ships with any)?
If your theme includes a tribe-events subdirectory that could be important here.

ParticipantI checked and I’m not seeing a tribe-events subdirectory in my theme.

MemberHi Mary,
If you feel comfortable doing so can you add the following line of code to your site’s wp-config.php file:
define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true );
Usually you will find a line in that file reading something like this:
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
Please just add the new line on a blank line somewhere just above that (this will allow me to more easily see what’s going wrong and where – and we can remove it later on).

ParticipantOK I did that.
By the way, should I respond to you by replying to your email?
Or should I do this–sign in to the forum and reply here? Thanks!

MemberReply here, please – reply-by-email isn’t an option (at least, not just yet 🙂 ).

MemberThanks – you can remove that piece of code.
My guess is the theme is noodling with queries when it shouldn’t be and unfortunately I can’t determine how/why exactly by looking at the browser.
Can you upload a .zip of the theme to your site/a service like Dropbox and share the URL here? I can’t make any guarantees, but I can take a quick look and see if something obvious jumps out at me.

MemberHi Mary,
So the theme includes a function called nimbus_seo_title() – this resets the query and causes the breakage.
It’s not clear to me why they need to do that – I wonder if you could reach out to the theme authors and ask if it is something they could review, unless there is a compelling reason to do it?
Thanks!
