Past events and recurring events – duplication | Different locations for recurr

Hey there,

i’ve been struggling to find a solution here,
i have two questions:

1. i’m using the Past events widget to show some of my old shows as a repertoire page,
unfortunately, it will show every event, even recurring one.
is there any way to cancel that? so it will show only one event per product? not recurring ones?

2. I am looking to change the venue for some of the recurring events, right now there is no option to do that and its really problematic, how can we fix this?

Thanks for using our products and for reaching out! I’d be happy to help you.

1. Could you please send me a screenshot of the Past events widget you are using? I would like to take a look as I’m not sure if it is our widget or something that comes with another plugin or your theme perhaps.

2. It is only possible to change the venue for all instances of a recurring event.

If you would only like to change the venue for some events in the series, then you will need to break up the series, or at least break out the events from the series where you want to use a different venue and manage those separately.

A recurring event presumes that all the events happen at the same venue. Hope this helps.

Hey Andras,
Thank you very much for the response.

1. The past event widget is part of the Eventica Theme which includes the event calendar.
   I thought it was created by you, if its an issue i have to solve with the eventica theme folks just let me know.
   I am just trying to figure a way to show past events as singular and not multiple events (see an example: http://new.fresco.org.il/fresco-dance-company/repertoire/ )

2. How do i break an event from a series? do i create the entire series and then find that particular event and change it? is that it?

Hi Erez,

Happy 2018! Hope you had a great Christmas holiday!

The Events Calendar does not come with a Past Events widget, so likely it was developed by the Eventica team. I would suggest to get in touch with them regarding this.

Breaking from a series: yes, you need to create the entire series first.

Then when you hover over the single instances you will see something like this.

If you click on “Edit All” then you will edit the whole series.

If you click “Edit Single” that will break out that one event from the series.

If you click “Edit Upcoming” then you will break the series in two and can edit them as if they were two separate recurring event serieses.
