Past Date for Event

I am wanting to set up a “past event”; in other words, an event that took place in the past. This is because I want to be able to show off events that have already occurred. When I try to do this now, it doesn’t save the event and erases all data. Is there some way to do this?

I’m able to do this without any of the problems you have described – but it may be we are in fact doing different things. Can you break down the steps I would need to follow to replicate this?
