GuestDoes the Community Events bundle recognize paid subscribers/users managed by WordPress and other Member plugins (such as ‘Members’ or ‘Advanced Access Manager’) ? Our goal is that subscribed users/members will not have to log-in again/create another account just for viewing/attending Events. If this is not possible, does the Community Events bundle itself offer an ability to set-up its own subscriber/membership levels with a membership price, promo code/discount, and setting of WP content
access permissions? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer on compatibility with managing memberships.May 7, 2018 at 4:47 pm #1524785Brendan
KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for considering our products. Sounds like you will need to do some customization to achieve your objective with our plugins. There isn’t a subscriber role to community events however you can make certain events visible to signed in users only with one of the plugins you mentioned. This isn’t supported and would require some customizing on your end. Once a user creates an account either through account registration or through purchasing an event, they will have this account in your site to use. In regards to membership price and discounts, this would be handled in the woocommerce product settings.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,

GuestBrendan, thank you for your reply and insights. We are certainly tying to avoid any advanced customizations and had hoped that a combination of a few popular and well-reviewed plugins could work together seamlessly. We will continue to look into the strategy you proposed to see where we may have opportunities or would run into issues. Thanks again!

GuestBrendan, as I’ve continued to research this, I have a couple follow-ups:
1) We are considering a membership plugin that restricts access to an entire site directory. Once in that site directory, should all visitors/users be able to use Community Events?
2) Does The Events Calendar event create/edit permissions simply inherit from WordPress users? Or, are there separate users created that only exist within The Events Calendar database table?
Thank you!

KeymasterHi Antony,
1. Yes, if you restrict the whole site, then once some gains access, they would have access to the entire site including community events.
2. The users are created as global WordPress users.Hope that helps.
Thanks,
