Kristin
ParticipantHi there,
I want to have a link in my navigation to an Event Category (called Milongas). I want that page to then display a list of the events in that Category; however, the page looks very odd and I can’t find settings anywhere for event categories to change how this page looks. I assumed it would look like the List page. Can someone help?It looks like this currently:

ParticipantHi, Kristin. That’s definitely not what an Event Category page should look like. My feeling is that there’s a conflict going on either with your theme, or with what you’re using for translation (maybe WPML).
Would you mind trying with the TwentyTwelve theme and other plugins disabled? Let me know what happens, and we’ll take it from there.

ParticipantIt looks fine, as expected, with the TwentyTwelve theme. I’m not using a translation plugin, this is a WP multi-site installation (because WPML conflicts with everything!). I’m using Headway 3.5.
That particular page is just using a template for the header and footer, and the WP content appears in the main section. All the other views seem to be fine for the Events calendar… the calendar and single event views etc. are all fine.August 28, 2013 at 10:07 am #63377Kelly
ParticipantHi, Kristin. We’ve had numerous reports of issues from users running Headway as their theme. Here are a couple of other threads you can look at for reference: Rolled back, page width errors and Monthly view missing…many problems-would like to reinsall..
Unfortunately, we can only offer very limited support for integration with Headway. I would recommend you contact them directly for support. If there’s any additional documentation we can provide to help, please let us know.

ParticipantIs there not a shortcode I could use to display the event category on a page I generate?
August 29, 2013 at 10:30 am #63651Kelly
ParticipantHi, Kristin. Unfortunately, not. The Events Calendar works by rewriting the loops and doesn’t use shortcode embeds for the time being.
This thread contains a solution if you’re interested in trying it out: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/are-there-shortcodes-in-events-calendar-pro/#post-58334 You would need to work with that plugin’s developer for assistance in integration, but it appears that it should integrate well with TEC.
Thanks!

ParticipantOk, thanks! The Events List widget could work for my purposes. Curious if there is a way to display a thumbnail image for each event when using the widget?

Participant(the widget will work because I can select only the category I want to show)

ParticipantHi, Kristin. Unfortunately, although it is in the works, this had not made it into the product yet.
We had a tutorial for doing this in 2.x, but it has not been updated since the release of 3.0. This is in the works, so if you hold tight, it should be available before too long.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help in the meantime. Thanks!

ParticipantOh, that’s good news. How will I know when the thumbnails are available for the widget? Will someone circle back here, or will it get mentioned perhaps in the newsletter?
Thanks again!

ParticipantHi, Kristin. We’re still working on updating the tutorial, but when complete, it should give the flexibility needed to change the image size as you describe. Once complete, it will be in the Tutorials section of our site (https://theeventscalendar.com/the-events-calendar-for-wordpress-tutorials/).
Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to keep track of forums threads to be able to update them that way. Your best will be to check out the Release Notes section of the site (https://theeventscalendar.com/category/products/release-notes/) after you’re notified of an update.
Thanks for being a TEC user!
