    Hi,

    after updating to 3.8 i miss the setup option for page template for a single event. I wanted to show the events in “blog post” format, but.. how can I do it now?

    Hi there, Paul! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂

    The cleanest way to customize the single event view is to do a theme override for the single-event.php template. Basically, that means you create a folder called tribe-events in your theme directory and copy the single-event.php (located in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views) there.

    You can pretty much copy the structure of your theme’s single.php file (assuming that’s the layout you’re trying to copy) to get the layout you’re looking for.

    Hi Geoff,

    ok, so I can change the content rendering. But, how can I add a sidebar? What I mead – the whole page template (contend width, default sidebar) , not only a content layout for a single event.

    Good question. You can add the sidebar (or any widget area) using the same get_sidebar() function that is standard in WordPress. Basically, whatever is included in your override will output on the page as well. 🙂

    Hmm.. there was a dropdown in 3.7 where i could choose a layout. Specially for a such purpose. And also a dropdown for a style (skeleton, etc.). Now the both dropdowns are gone. Or do I miss something?

    Those should still be there if you head over to Events > Settings > Display (screenshot). Are you seeing those?

    Nope 🙁 ok, seems to be an issue of the theme, enfold 3.0

    Ah, bummer. I’m sorry there’s a conflict with the theme, but I appreciate you taking the time to confirm it. I’m going to add Enfold 3.0 to a list of themes to keep an eye, so I’m definitely glad you brought it up.
