Mark
ParticipantSome of our office staff were having trouble loading our main page (www.valleynewsonline.com) in Internet Explorer version 8 and one of the IT staff sent the details of the error and said it was related to the events plugin. Here is the info below:
Message:
Expected identifier, string or number
Line: 362
Char: 4
Code: 0
URI: http://valleynewsonline.com/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/resources/events-admin.js?ver=3.4.1Is there a compatibility issue with this version or is there something we can do to correct the problem? Thanks for your help!

ParticipantIt is still a problem (the error above appears) unless you are in compatibility view. Is there anything we can do to address that error for users who may still be using Explorer 8?

MemberHi Mark, as before I can’t see this issue.
I can visit the homepage of your site using IE8 and I don’t have any problems doing so – I don’t see any Javascript issues either, the only problems I can see are some viewport issues (see http://pastebin.com/Sqc7kUUV – not Events Calendar related though).
Can you be a bit more specific in terms of describing the sort of trouble your office staff are having in loading your front page? Are they seeing warnings, or are they unable to navigate across the site? I’d need some more detail to be able to help here.

MemberAh ok, hold on a sec. I can see the syntax error you are referring to (or that your IT person referred to) and I’ll ask our devs to address that.
I’m still able to view your homepage on IE8 without difficulty though (not that that is an excuse of course) – what you could do until the devs have a chance to fix this up – if you are happy making this sort of change that is – is change the contents of the-events-calendar/resources/events-admin.js to http://pastebin.com/yZmY1mK0
I hope that helps here and sorry for the inconvenience.
