ParticipantHello – About half of my recurring events on my calendar come up as “Page Not Found” when I click on them. Some work, some don’t. Can’t really identify a pattern as to why some work fine and others do not.
What might be causing this issue and how can it be resolved?
Thanks,

MemberHi Andy,
I’m sorry you are experiencing difficulties.
Can you give me any further background about the events – were they imported from a different installation (via regular WordPress import/export tools), for instance, or did anything on your site change immediately prior to this problem manifesting?
I do also see that you noted having already tried our standard troubleshooting steps, which is appreciated š … can you confirm this didn’t turn up any conflicts?
Unless you have already done so, would you be able to repeat them and – at the point where nothing but our plugins are running alongside a default theme – could you try creating some new recurring events and test to see if any of those newly created events are impacted by this issue?
The reason I ask is that it’s possible there is a conflict which happens at the point events are created. If so, running through our troubleshooting steps may not result in the issue being fixed in respect of events that have already been “damaged”.
Last but not least, could you also post your system information (this can be found in the Events → Help screen), by private reply if you prefer? I’m particularly interested to learn if you are using WordPress SEO or any other plugins with a redirection capability.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
Thanks for your reply. The events were created directly in the Events Calendar plugin – not imported in any way.
The issue was not corrected going through the standard troubleshooting steps to my knowledge. I’d prefer not to do it again as my site is live and I do not like disabling my theme and plugins while it is visible.
I will send my system information a separate private message.
Thanks,

MemberThanks! So you have at least one plugin that suggests it has redirect capabilities (“SEO Redirection”) … are you absolutely sure this isn’t implementing a rule that’s getting in the way, here?
Iād prefer not to do it again as my site is live and I do not like disabling my theme and plugins while it is visible.
I can definitely understand that – but how about this: what if you create a test site and start only with our plugins – before adding anything else can you replicate the problem there, too? The test site can be as simple as a fresh WP installation in a subdirectory within the same hosting account as your live site.
This is a fairly fast and easy way to test wihtout impacting on the live site.
Assuming for the moment you do that and find there’s no problem, can you then begin building up the same stack of plugins and themes as you have on the live site? As you activate these, try creating new chains of recurring events. At any point do these begin to suffer the same symptoms as on your live site?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
I am absolutely sure that SEO Redirection isn’t causing the issue. I just disabled that specific plugin again to double check and the issue is still occurring.
When I click on an event, for example “Traditional Service” (a recurring event) it takes me to the page http://clarksburgbaptistchurch.com/all/ – which does not exist.
But if I click on “Clubhouse252” (which is another recurring event) it works completely fine.
Unfortunately, I really do not have the time to create a test site and go through all this setup. So that’s not an option for me at the moment.
Again – it only happens with certain recurring events, not all, which seems extremely odd. If it was a conflicting plugin I would assume that it would cause the issue with all or even the entire calendar. Could be wrong in that assumption though. š
Any other suggestions or ideas as to what the issue is? Would it be beneficial for you to login to my site for any reason to look at settings or anything?
Thank you again for your time and help.

MemberI’m afraid we don’t ordinarily accept login credentials and would not normally log into a customer website.
One other thing that could be worth trying, though, is visiting Settings → Permalinks … just visiting this screen causes a set of rules WordPress uses to direct requests to be reconstructed and – occasionally – it helps to resolve this kind of issue.
Can you give that a try?

ParticipantHi Barry,
Just tried that again (had tried it earlier after looking at some other threads in the forum) and nothing seemed to change. Still taking some of the recurring events to http://clarksburgbaptistchurch.com/all/

ParticipantSame problem here. This also happens in our site with no apparent logical pattern, sometimes returning a 404 not found error and sometimes a reset connection. Notice that the ending url is “http://www.domain.com/all/”. The only way we’ve found to solve this is deleting all the events in recurrence and creating the same recurring event from scratch, future dates only. That fixes the problem for a while but today has been the third time we had to recreate the recurrence. Also past events are lost.
Also tried to disable all other plugins and updating the permalinks with no luck.

ParticipantForgot to mention, the error only affects future events.
Thanks.

MemberHi @marcjulia – I am sorry to hear you are also facing this. Please do feel free to monitor this topic, but if you need further help that is specific to your site we would ask you post a new support topic š
Andy: would you be happy to create a database dump, zip it and upload it either to your WordPress site or some other service such as Dropbox – and then share it here by private reply? Since the problem is still apparent even on a clean installation of WordPress this should allow me to replicate this issue and see what’s happening.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey I am also having the same issue… I doubt there is something wrong we all are doing! Woocommerce just update their theme, same with many others. I have not update anything, and this just happened today. Are you guys looking into it? I just launched the site and now nobody is purchasing events. I had tried your testing for conflicts page but it did not resolved anything.

ParticipantNever mind, I just updated the permalinks and it worked š Thanks anyways!
