GuestHi there –
Not sure why you closed my previous thread – it would have been convenient to reply there. Nonetheless, you previously responded stating “You can import events from The Events Calendar into Outlook by using the iCal feed that’s provided in PRO.”
Being that I’d have no way to try it out first, I’d like to understand what it looks/feels like to a user. Does the user simply visit an event in the calendar, and click a link for that event to be added to his/her Outlook calendar? I’m not sure what you mean by ical *feed* – does the user have to subscribe? What specific steps will my user need to take for an event to be populated in their Outlook calendar.
Also, can a user subscribe to the calendar so that it would notify them of all added events and populate them in their Outlook calendar?
It looks like you’ve got the nicest event calendar plug-in out there … but I need to make certain it does what I need it to do … or what my users will want it to do.
Thanks.
Mike

ParticipantMike,
Sorry about closing that thread prematurely! Take a look at our Demo Site: WP Shindig, and if you scroll down to the bottom you’ll see the iCal import button (screenshot) that you can click on and give it a try with your version of Outlook. When you click on the iCal button, it just exports a .ics file that is a snapshot of either the calendar view you’re currently viewing (list view, single event, etc). Since this is exported as a file, it won’t continue to update a user’s Outlook calendar as events are added to the site.
Hopefully that helps to answer your questions, but let me know if I can help further. Thanks! 🙂
