I recently updated to the latest ECP. In past versions or ECP outbound links would usually open a new browser window or tab.
I’m specifically talking about links such as Organizer Website, Venue Website, and Event Website.
These links used to open in a new browser or tab (target=”_blank”) but now that doesn’t happen… the links now open in the same browser window.
I tested this out on different web browsers on both my desktop computer and mobile device (smartphone).
I looked around in the ECP settings in my WP Dashboard but can’t find an option to turn this option on.
Has something changed? How can I get the outbound Organizer Website, Venue Website, and Event Website, links open in a new tab/browser window?

I will look into these solutions but before I do can you please answer my last question so I can decide how we plan to proceed?
Specifically, old versions of ECP automatically opened outbound links found on Venue and Organizer pages in new web browser Windows / Tabs.
With this new version this is not happening for me anymore.
What I want to know is did ECP Developers change the code so outbound links skip adding the target=_blank attribute?
Or did they not change that… and are they still supposed to open in those links in new Windows/Tabs…. and is it my specifical installation that is not doing this anymore (or is it all new versions of ECP)?

I can confirm that links are not opening in new tabs for the pages that you mentioned with our current plugin version installed. I cannot recall if it worked this way before, but I’d be happy to look into it if you believe that a specific previous version was set up this way.

Yes an older version of ECP (v3.7) did open the outbound links from Venue and Organizer pages to the venue/organizer websites in new windows.
The solutions you provided won’t work for me… except maybe that one plugin but I don’t really want to use a plugin just for those two links.
Would the developers be able to provide code I could add to the theme’s function.php file so I can accomplish this? Or let me know where I can find the code (what lines and what .php file) so I can attempt to change it myself?
