ParticipantAttempting to pull from: http://www.uws.edu/events/?tribe_eventcategory=68
Importing from this url brings what seems to be their entire calendar. In attempting to pull the filtered version, I need to add a refine. So I tested the refine on the university website and it delivered the same result: https://www.uws.edu/events/list/?tribe_paged=2&tribe_event_display=list&tribe_eventcategory=68
The refine is Continuing Education.
Issues.
1. A number of the events that show on the calendar to not show on the import preview. Oct 7 Event: UWS CAMPUS – SACRO OCCIPITAL… does not show up on either of the import attempts. .
2. If I change the refine to CE Physician, the calendar returns essentially the same information, however the import brings in substantially different set.Any insight into what is happening? Is it perhaps that the a two word refine is problematic (or is the filter dynamic and can be modified with quotes or + – etc,)?
Also it would be nice to be able to pull their entire future calendar instead of limiting to 90 days.

KeymasterHello Harry,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry about the issues you are having, let me try to help you solve them.
I tested the urls provided and yes, it looks like they do show more events in the import then needed. I believe that comes from the url itself, it looks like Event Aggregator doesn’t like this format of category filtering.
I have checked with this url and it seemed to work fine. Give it a try and let me know the results.
http://www.uws.edu/events/category/continuing-education/
This is the nice url form of category filtering. It ends with the category slug.
1. A number of the events that show on the calendar to not show on the import preview. Oct 7 Event: UWS CAMPUS – SACRO OCCIPITAL… does not show up on either of the import attempts.
When I checked the urls for importing that Oct 7 event showed up in all the previews for me. I didn’t see an issue there.
Check with the “new” url I gave you and let me know if it’s still hiding.
2. If I change the refine to CE Physician, the calendar returns essentially the same information, however the import brings in substantially different set.
How do you change the filter? What url do you try to import that gives such a different result set?
When I tested this:
http://www.uws.edu/events/category/ce-physician/
then it gave me 5 events in the preview.
Also it would be nice to be able to pull their entire future calendar instead of limiting to 90 days.
This is absolutely possible. We have recently introduced a new setting that sets an automatic limit on imports in order not to overload your system and our servers with superfluous requests.
You can find this setting under Events > Settings > Imports tab > Global Import Settings section where you can set the import limit type and the limit itself, or you can remove any limitations, if you’d like. This is not recommended as this can cause issues in case there are too many events that need to be imported.
If an event is not getting imported, then it also makes sense to check if you have already imported that event before and put it on the “Ignored” list. When you go to your event list page on the back-end you should see an “Ignored” label at the top, like in this screenshot.
Let me know how the import goes and we’ll work from there.
Cheers,

ParticipantThanks! Both of those variations worked.
With regards to the time into the future. It seems that the import date date settings under other url override the global settings

KeymasterStoked to hear it worked, Harry! Awesome!
Reg. this:

Thanks for the hint. Can you give a specific example on this? Would help us greatly to know what to look for.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Andras.
So, not sure that you got the issue. I’d like to be able to import events more than 3 months out, but am unable to the Other URL has a limitation of 3 months that over rides the global option. So if the individual imports are going to have import limitations, at the very least the limitation variables should include the same list of options as the global (for example # of events vs time into the future).
Thanks
Harry

KeymasterOh, I didn’t realize that until now, thanks for bringing my attention to that.
Not quite sure what that is like that. Let me check with my colleagues and I will get back to you on that to see at least if that is a limitation of the REST API (which is being used to fetch events from other TEC calendars) or something else.
