Organizer Website link generates incorrect HTML

I’m using The Events Calendar PRO v4.4.3 on an WordPress v4.7.2 site using the Avada v5.0.6 theme.

When I look at an organizer page such as:

https://www.rrcsb.org/organizer/families-overcoming-drug-addiction/

I see my website link text as “https://myfodafamily.org/”. But my broken link checker utility flagged a problem in the generated HTML:

<span class="link"> <a href="<a href=&quot;https://myfodafamily.org/&quot; target=&quot;_self&quot;>https://myfodafamily.org/</a>"></a><a href="https://myfodafamily.org/" target="_self">https://myfodafamily.org/</a> </span>

Hopefully, this forum editor won’t mangle the HTML. Basically, I see TWO links generated in the HTML. The first one has no text and a bad link (href URL). The second one has the correct text and href URL. So the link looks and operates correctly, but there is a broken link in there as well.

Sorry for the trouble here with the site link on the Organizer page!

I checked this out and was indeed able to see the same thing as your describe. In other words, adding a website URL to an Organizer creates two links, the first of which is not displayed and contains invalid markup. It’s a good thing it doesn’t display in the first place, but the markup shouldn’t be there at all.

I’ve gone ahead and create a ticket for this in our system and I’ll mark this thread Pending Fix. While I  do not have a timeframe for when we’ll tackle this, we will be sure to follow up with you here directly when we have more information to share.
