Only 1 event showing in Events Calendar Widget

I have many events in the calendar but the calendar widget just recently started only displaying 1. I have it set to display 4 and don’t have any filter selected. The site is http://www.wolcf.org/are-you-saved/ and the widget is on the sidebar. Any ideas?

Hi wpdan,

When the calendar widget first loads it displays upcoming events for the remainder of the month – so this would seem to be working as expected to me (right now I see just one event, and there is only one upcoming event left in your main calendar this month).

Ordinarily a user could then click on a specific date within the month or navigate to the next month, etc, however I guess as a result of the customization work you previously asked about that isn’t going to be viable here 🙁

Perhaps an alternative would be to use the Event List widget and then customize it’s appearance so it is closer to your desired appearance?

I guess that’s the way it’s designed to work but it would seem to make more sense to me to always list the next 4 event (if that’s the amount selected) regardless of how close to the end of the month it is.

Well, I personally tend to disagree since we’re talking about the calendar widget here – and that is focused on showing a single month at any one time, albeit you’ve removed the calendar and it’s now lacking that ‘context’.

You can achieve what you want with the event list widget, which will display x upcoming events and isn’t restricted to a single month (and you could tweak it to give it a similar appearance to the calendar widget if you wanted to).

If you feel strongly about the calendar widget having different behaviour in this regard please do post a feature request (use the link to our UserVoice page, below) and we’ll happily consider it 🙂 … that would also let other users endorse the idea which can be a useful gauge for us.
