Omit recurring events from displaying more than once on blog feed

I have settings for the events to display with my main blog feed, and added the custom code to display by post date instead of event date… however, recurring events are showing all of those events. This feature doesn’t look all that bad when not posting by publish date, however it really bogs down the blog feed.

Is there a way to display just the first occurrence of an event on the blog feed?

Hi Erika,

There isn’t any baked in means of doing this – the setting we do have only impacts on The Events Calendar’s own list style views.

You maybe to use this snippet in your theme’s functions.php file to achieve this:
